CELEBRATING 7 YEARS OF SERVICE!!!

The TMJ Dance Project is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that uses the art of dance or enrich the lives of children and families in historically underserved communities. Our mission is to create cultural dance experiences that impact community outreach, dance in education, affordable training & scholarships, and live dance performances.

The TMJ Dance Project serves over 500 families per year through dance programs that impact dance & literacy, social-emotional learning, equitable access and inclusion to quality dance training & facilities, and cultural awareness.

The TMJ Dance Project was founded on March 15, 2016 by Terrance M. Johnson. Terrance formed the organization with the intention of being a small collective of professional dance artists that would create project-based dance concerts and dance training workshops for children and families in communities where there was no access or inclusion in the art of dance.

The completion of the organization's first project uncovered a need for consistent dance education and training programs in middle and low-income communities, so it was decided that the performing collective would shift into a full-service dance organization that would use the art of dance to make positive impact in middle and low-income communities.

Your donation supports the TMJ Dance Project by providing:

  • Operational support to help build & maintain a world-class dance facility.

  • Human Resource support to help us hire and maintain qualified dance professionals to implement our programs & services.

  • Scholarship support to help students & families with the cost of quality dance training.

  • Outreach support to bring dance outside of our studio walls and into the community.

  •

Thank you for donating to the TMJ Dance Project! Your generous support makes a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families that we serve, as we continue to change lives every day through dance.

It’s more than “just dance.” It is Liberating Art in Motion!
