Movement Therapy Intervention
Movement Therapy Intervention is social emotional learning (SEL) program that uses creative movement and mindfulness practices as intervention to develop
self-management skills of students with behavioral challenges.
This mission of Movement Therapy Intervention is to use movement & mindfulness to create a safe space for student reflection on behavior management. This program supports art in education is facilitated in partnership with a host school/campus.
The objectives of Movement Therapy Intervention are to:
Cultivate student artist relationships through SEL practices that create a safe learning environment.
Uncover causes of behavioral challenges through mindful movement and conversation.
Empower students to master self-confidence & self control.
Movement Therapy Intervention aims to achieve the following student artist outcomes:
Enhanced social interaction that demonstrates self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making.
Demonstration of self-knowledge and identity.
Demonstration improved behavior management, self-confidence, and self-control.
